- Ben Fogle Loves the Cumbrian Lakes
The AA's Leisure Guide to the Lake District, which I co-wrote, is a natural one to recommend... but they are good little guidebooks. And I'm sure our Middle East editor Hugh Taylor can recommend some walking books to the area. And I'd also recommend the Rough Guide to the Lake District.

Apart from what Mike has already recommended there is The Lake District, the official National Park Guide written by Terry Marsh our French Cuisine writer and published by Pevensey an imprint of David and Charles.
The AA 50 Walks In The Lake District is one that my wife, Moira McCrossan (who writes about British Fiction on Suite 101)and I wrote part of. Terry Marsh is also responsible for the Jarrold Short Walks In The Lake District and I have recently revised Jarrold's Pathfinder Guide to the Lake District and it's companion volume More Lake District.
